Reflections on Values

As people of Faith striving to live lives of integrity, we are wise to intentionally align our values and our actions; our walk should match our talk, and vice-versa.

To align the two, however, requires us to first prayerfully discern what our values actually are, based on God’s Word, and then make principled decisions grounded in these values.

Gaining a clear understanding of our values is a challenging process. But slowing down now to clearly and deeply discern our core values will pay huge dividends down the road.

If we rush prematurely into action before we clearly understand our values, we may do things we’ll later regret or be confused as to why we even did something in the first place.

Not only will knowing our values help us begin to identify what ministry activities God may be calling us to do, but more importantly, why and in what ways He desires us to do them.

This is why we’re going to talk a lot about values this summer, and into the fall, as part of our “Picturing Faith Together” journey.

Over the coming weeks, leaders from Faith will share their reflections on some of the values we identified at our June 9 gathering as being important to God and us as His people.

We pray you are blessed and encouraged as together we meditate on God’s Word and the insights of our brothers and sisters of Faith.
